3 Smoothie Recipes for Immunity, Eczema and Food Sensitivities

Ok so everyone knows how to make a smoothie these days you probably have your go to and fair enough… but who doesn’t love a variation especially if it can improve digestion, boost immunity, calm eczema and support the recovery of food intolerances and sensitivities! Yes Please!

Why i love smoothies

As a mum of a toddler who has become an increasingly picky eater I feel so much satisfaction when my son gulps down a delicious smoothie packed with all the essential vitamins, minerals, protein and healthy fats he tends to miss out on during the day.

Sure, we want our kids to eat a wide range of whole foods and as many different colours and textures of fruits and vegetables as possible. We also don’t want to hide ingredients or trick our kids into consuming something their don’t like or gravitate toward normally. HOWEVER, and this is a big but- we can support them during these times of fussiness by offering them more nutrient dense dishes like smoothies, soups or dips, snacks and sauces enriched in superfoods like bone broth, liver powder, spirulina and egg yolk.

This is where smoothies really are the icing on the cake. You can pack them with things like greens, frozen cauliflower (creamy texture), supplements like cod liver oil and powders to ensure they are getting their daily dose of essential nutrients. Not only will this support their immunity, growth and development, and improve their moods, nutrient dense smoothies can help grow their microbiome, supporting their gut and skin health.

We have many smoothie combinations in our household, but these are by top three. At the bottom of the recipe I have included also a bit about the benefits some key ingredients… enjoy!
